About this event

Our group meets every Saturday afternoon for a virtual creative writing 'get to together' on Zoom. Hosted by experienced tutor and writer, Gilly Beckett, there are fun exercises and prompts for writing and the opportunity to share your work with the group. Or you can just listen.

Time to climb out of your writerly comfort zone with some HOMEWORK for 12 June

Different Perspectives

Use a voice and background different from your own to write something unfamiliar and fresh.

Making multiple perspectives work in your creative writing:

Hone in on the most important character. ...

Use different perspectives to build characters. ...

Stick to one point of view for each character. ...

Clearly define perspective shifts. ...

Give each character a unique perspective and voice.

Strange, muddy footprints leading up to the front door.

A stranger on a train gets up, leaving a package behind.

The next-door neighbour vanishes without a trace.

One day the national news channel shuts off. And the day after that…

A large black box on the doorstep. A note on the front, Caution: may bite.

Many thanks

Friendly supportive group.
