Event Information
About this Event
Sign up to our virtual antenatal classes to prepare for the arrival of your new baby. These antenatal classes are recommended from 28 weeks gestation. (Please note these classes are running online and do not require you to attend the hospital)As face to face antenatal classes have been suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Northumbria NHS Foundation Trust have created online classes which will be run by one of our community midwives who will talk you through the labour and birth, including:• How to prepare for labour• Signs of labour• Different stages• Pain relief options• Positions for labour• Role of the birth partner• ChoicesDue to limited spaces, we respectfully ask that only mothers who are booked to have their baby with Northumbria Healthcare Trust book onto the sessions. We encourage fathers, partners and any other family members to join in too – whoever may be supporting you when your baby is born.We are currently only offering a limited number of sessions at present due to team capacity and we do apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, this will be reviewed as an ongoing process. The link below is a guide to getting started with Zoom if you have never used it

Please note, we advise all audio to be turned off throughout the class to support the reduction of background noise, you can also turn your camera off if you prefer not to be seen. Zoom allows the opportunity to type a chat question during the session and there will be a midwife available throughout to answer questions as they arise. We hope we can make this zoom class as informative as possible, by having the chat questions throughout and you will have the opportunity to talk at the end of session with the midwives and other expectant mothers. Please Note: Only one booking per family is needed even if multiple people are attending
