An event for investors and industry professionals to view innovative technologies created Northumbria University and meet spinout founders

Join us for Northumbria University’s IP Showcase Event 2026.

Northumbria University has successfully transformed itself into a research-intensive modern university as proven by its recognition as the Modern University of the Year 2025 by the Times and The Sunday Times (after the Times' analysis of our performance in their research quality index, increasing student satisfaction and our overall rise in the league table) and in the REF 2022 result as having achieved the biggest rise in research power of any UK university.

The ongoing research at Northumbria is leading to the creation of valuable IP which can be exploited for economic and societal benefit to meet global challenges. The IP Commercialisation Team (within Research and Innovation Services) is holding a Northumbria University IP Showcase Event 2026 to showcase some of the technologies and research-based products and services that are being developed at Northumbria University for subsequent adoption by industry.

On behalf of Northumbria University, the IP Commercialisation Team would like to invite you to our IP Showcase Event which is taking place on 11th June from 9:30am – 3.45pm.

At the event, you can interact with our innovators to explore further the disruptive technologies being built at Northumbria and discuss possible joint R&D ventures and investment opportunities. There will be talks from academic innovators on some of our IP commercialisation projects and existing and upcoming spin-out companies. Our technology area includes MedTech, Bio-Tech, Net Zero, Electronics, Engineering, Space-Tech, Materials, Assistive-Tech, AI. At the event you can interact with our innovators to explore further the disruptive technologies being built at Northumbria and discuss possible joint R&D ventures and investment opportunities.

10:30 – 12:30: Northumbria University Spinouts matter to Investors and Consumers/Clients?

* Presentation by founders of existing and pipeline spinouts

* Q&A with Founders of Existing and pipeline spinouts
