Description

WORKPLACE WELLBEING - NETWORKING BREAKFAST

Join us for our next free networking business breakfast, with Roberta Fida, Senior Lecturer in Work Psychology at UEA, Olga Tregaskis, Professor of International Human Resource Management at UEA and Katie Tierney, Active Workplaces Project Officer at Active Norfolk.

  • How do we create transformative change: the importance of 'soft' skills - Roberta Fida & Olga Tregaskis

Collaboration in the workplace is a vital competitive capability underpinning wellbeing, innovation, creativity, and ultimately productivity. Navigating collaboration successfully is dependent on the ‘soft’ skills of organisational members. Questions of how to manage diverse and potentially conflicting interests, in a way that generates common goals and retains ethical integrity are key social and political skills in modern organisational life.

This business breakfast will bring evidence from research on globalising management norms to demonstrate some of the key management capability used when firms attempt to generate new ways of work and consider the practical initiatives that organisations can mobilise to support collaboration.

  • Active Workplaces & Pushing Ahead: The business case for an active workforce – Katie Tierney

With employers incurring significant financial costs through sickness absence, presenteeism and poor productivity, the case for supporting the physical and mental health of employees is stronger than ever.

Katie leads on Active Norfolk’s workplace physical activity and active travel programme. Active Workplaces provides information, training, support and resources to organisations in Norfolk.
