Welcome to the Norwich Hackspace Young Makers club, renamed to avoid confusion with Code Club UK and also to reflect a wider remit of digital making and not coding alone.
Led by Junior Hackspace members Archie and James, this is a three session project where you will work as a group and build something such as a robotic cart using simple hardware. You will program the robot to do something that you will decide together. This will enable a number of people to work as a team and to take on different roles. We have quite a range of ages, interests and abilities so we will try to make the best of them all in the team.
Please register to come along (children under 12 need an adult with them who is welcome to join in and learn at the same time) even if you have been before so that we know which sessions you can come to. Try and come to them all - we have adjusted the dates to avoid half term so they are two weeks apart. Please book for each date using the drop-down menu - we are hoping you can come to all three.
If you are an adult accompanying a child, please book a place for each of you so that we know who is coming.
The sessions, when we will be working on a project are:
5 and 19 November 1-4pm and 3 December 2.30-4.30pm. There is an optional extra date of 17 December if we want to do a presentation or need time to finish the project.
Please bring your own lunch, drinks and a laptop, Mac or PC is ok and a Library card or internet access. If you don't have a laptop, come anyway - not everyone will need their own laptop. We are asking for a donation of £20 the three sessions per young maker (parents go free!) - this is to buy equipment and is payable at the start.
Supervised & all leaders DBS-checked. Booking necessary so that we can keep in touch in case of changes
