Event description

Description

Started by Dave Amis in the 1980s, the Norfolk Students' Jazz Orchestra's membership is drawn from schools all across Norfolk and welcomes students of grade 6 standard or above who have a passion for jazz and improvisation. Under the stewardship of Dave, Josh Daniels and most recently Geraldine Evans the band has won numerous national competitions in London and Birmingham, and this year achieved 'outstanding' in the Norfolk County Music Festival.

Many notable local players have passed through the band's ranks including Brad and Elliot Mason, Kit Downes, Tom Dunnett and George Crowley (to name but a few) and ex-members Harry Evans and Nick Fitch currently hold chairs in the National Youth Jazz Orchestra.

Norwich Jazz Club have always been pleased and proud to promote NSJO and we're very much looking forward to their set this evening. Please come along to support them because you know that at least some of them are set to become the great jazz performers of the future!

NSJO will be playing a 60min set from 8.30pm, followed by a set from The Thomas Howe Quartet at 10pm.

Doors / tables available from 7pm / music from 8.30-11pm.

Bistro Britannia, The Guildhall, Guildhall Hill, Norwich, NR2 1JS.
