(NOT) ALL PERSONAL: Puck Verkade & Georgia Lucas-Going, exhibition at Sarab...
Event Information
Description
Artists-in-residence, Puck Verkade and Georgia Lucas-Going present their first joint exhibition in the Sarabande main space entitled '(NOT) ALL PERSONAL'.
Verkade (1987, The Netherlands) received her BFA from the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague and has recently completed an MFA in Fine Art at Goldsmiths, London, before moving in to Sarabande Studios. With a practise that was formerly centred around screen based work, more recently Verkade has been working with a diverse range of materials including latex, crystals and scaffolding - making sculptural elements that both support and house her video works, to make space-intrusive installations.
Georgia Lucas-Going (UK) recently completed an MFA at Slade School of Art in Fine Art Media and was chosen as a Sarabande scholar by the artist Matthew Stone. In addition to the scholarship, Lucas-Going is a recent recipient of the Berenice Goodwin prize for performance and her work explores humour, grief and self-taught survival techniques resulting mainly in video, performance and sculpture.
Both artists explore identity politics and power dynamics within their practice and will be exhibiting alongside each other for Sarabande’s first screen based show.
Private View - 28 March, 6 - 8pm, performance at 7pm, cockails from Ketel One Vodka
