Event description

Description

Bones and memory, language and silence - two artist-performers share their latest work. From an unusual collaborative process, of individual exploration with mutual support, emerges this double bill of solos that are highly personal, yet also interconnected - both equally rooted in a fascination with how awareness of the moving body can reveal otherwise inaccessible insights and meanings.

Programme

Five Bone Manoeuvres
By Alex Crowe
Some temporary articulations on form - longing for it, fear of it; and its (apparent) absence.

‘self re written’
By Jenny Hill
A solo of overlapping images, memories, words and actions - that might simultaneously seek resolution and solve nothing.

Alex Crowe and Jenny Hill first began practising and performing together some fifteen years ago.

Alex is a practitioner and teacher of Skinner Releasing dance technique, among other mindful and somatic movement practices, and holds an MA in Performance Making from Goldsmiths.

Jenny is a choreographer based in London. She is also a practitioner.of the Feldenkrais Method. Her training in dance, Feldenkrais and butoh theatre influences her arts practice. She received an M(Res) in Choreography and Performance from Roehampton University in 2013. www.jennyhilldance.com
