Event description

Description

Artist Louise Adkins will be showing new photographic work in the Bar & Kitchen produced during her recent residency here at The Tetley (through Nov – Feb). She will also present a new performance in the historic boardroom, drawing on material in the brewery archive, themes of historicity and audio description narrative techniques commonly used for blind and visually impaired audiences. Adkins’ residency has focused on a process of (re)-visioning, looking at unknown, lost or un-witnessed histories and historical events as a starting point for developing performances. This research seeks to interrogate cultural understandings of historic authenticity, narrative myth-making and the potential to inform the viewers’ ability to reflect and (re) imagine the past.

Live public performances will take place in the boardroom on Weds 29 November between 6pm – 8pm. Please book your place via the links below as spaces will be limited. Please note that this performance will involve the use of a haze machine and theatrical smoke.
