We are pleased to announce a virtual exhibition organised by ArtCan and La Condamine in partnership with La Société Nationale des Beaux Arts, entitled

"Notre Temps | Our Time"

This partner exhibition is a representation and celebration of collaboration in our current climate. The past few years have been challenging to say the least but the creative passion and flexibility within these changing times has remained a constant.

Notre Temps | Our Time hopes to reflect the very best contemporary art across both organisations and be a vibrant celebration of our current moment in time.

Notre Temps / Our Time espère refléter le meilleur de l’art contemporain à travers les deux organisations et être une célébration vibrante du moment actuel.

ArtCan & La Condamine & La Société Nationale des Beaux Arts

ARTCAN

ArtCan is an artist-led, non-profit arts organisation with members across Britain and internationally. Our work is supported by the efforts of artist-member volunteers, contributions from our Founder Friends and Friends of ArtCan and with the valued guidance of our Board of Trustees. ArtCan has expertise in producing collaborative art exhibitions in London, across Britain and internationally. Our exhibitions complement the work of established galleries by enabling talent to gain experience and skills. We work with galleries, but also seek new spaces where art becomes a part of everyday life and with the aim of involving audiences in an organic and personal way. ArtCan’s artist-centred ethos means that our model does not involve charging membership fees or commissions on sales, to help artists focus on developing a sustainable practice.

La Condamine

La Condamine is a community of artist-entrepreneurs which develops innovative solutions so that each of us can make a living from our art. Because the success of an artist today is determined by his or her ability to communicate on his/her work, to promote it and to seize the opportunities that come their way, we offer personalised coaching to our members in the form of trainings, as well as consulting services, in order to structure their creative project at a commercial and strategic level. To give our artists all the tools to achieve success is to allow them to bypass the traditional intermediaries and to reach creative autonomy. Thanks to our training, our members get access to methods used by successful companies. Within our community, we put each member in contact with different profiles (artists, art market professionals) in order to stimulate exchanges, experience sharing and to create opportunities that will enable them to develop a viable economical structure around their art.

La Société Nationale des Beaux Arts - SNBA

The SNBA is an association of French artists founded by Théophile Gautier in 1861, to break with the official Salon, in order to welcome all artistic expressions and in his own words to "make art independent and teach artists to do their affairs themselves". Meissonnier, Puvis de Chavannes, Dalou, Carolus-Duran, Gervex, Rodin, Béraud, Cazin, Dagnan-Bouveret and Besnard made up, in 1890, the founding core of the new Société́ Nationale des Beaux Arts. Its first Salon was triumphantly held in 1890 at the Palais du Champ de Mars. The following year, Meissonnier, gravely ill, handed over the presidency to Puvis de Chavannes, who was elected by popular acclaim. Today, the SNBA is presided over by Michel King, Official Painter of the Navy. It pursues its tradition of encouraging and supporting artists of all tendencies, by organizing every year its Salon: the Salon des Beaux Arts.

ARTCAN

ArtCan est une organisation artistique à but non lucratif dirigée par des artistes, qui compte des membres dans toute la Grande-Bretagne et le monde entier. ArtCan possède une expertise dans la réalisation d’expositions artistiques collaboratives à Londres, en Grande-Bretagne et dans le monde. Nos expositions complètent le travail des galeries établies en permettant aux talents de gagner en expérience et en compétences. Nous travaillons avec des galeries, mais nous recherchons également de nouveaux espaces où l’art fait partie du quotidien, dans le but d’impliquer le public de façon organique et personnelle. L’éthique d’ArtCan est centrée sur l’artiste, ce qui signifie que notre modèle n’implique ni frais d’adhésion ni commissions sur les ventes, permettant ainsi aux artistes de se concentrer sur le développement d’une pratique durable.

La Condamine

La Condamine est une communauté d'artistes-entrepreneurs qui développe des solutions innovantes afin que chacun vive de son art. Parce qu'aujourd'hui ce qui fait le succès d'un artiste, c'est sa capacité à communiquer sur sa création, à la mettre en valeur et à saisir les opportunités qui s'offrent à lui/elle, nous proposons à nos membres un suivi personnalisé dans le cadre de formations, ainsi que des missions de conseil, en vue de structurer leur projet de création aux niveaux commercial et stratégique. Donner à nos artistes tous les outils pour percer, c'est leur permettre de contourner les intermédiaires traditionnels et de parvenir à l'autonomie créative. Grâce à nos formations, nous rendons les méthodes utilisées par les entreprises accessibles à nos membres. Au sein de notre communauté, nous mettons chaque adhérent en relation avec différents profils (artistes, professionnels du marché de l'art) afin de favoriser les échanges, partages d'expérience et de créer des opportunités à même de leur permettre de développer un modèle économique viable autour de leur art.

La Société Nationale des Beaux Arts - SNBA

La SNBA est une association d’artistes français fondée par Théophile Gautier en 1861, en rupture avec le Salon officiel, afin d’accueillir toutes les expressions artistiques et selon ses mots pour « rendre l’art indépendant et apprendre aux artistes à faire eux-mêmes leurs affaires ». Meissonnier, Puvis de Chavannes, Dalou, Carolus-Duran, Gervex, Rodin, Béraud, Cazin, Dagnan-Bouveret et Besnard composèrent, en 1890, le noyau fondateur de la nouvelle Société Nationale des Beaux Arts. Son premier Salon se tint triomphalement en 1890 au Palais du Champ de Mars. L’année suivante, Meissonnier, gravement malade, transmet la présidence à Puvis de Chavannes, élu par acclamations. La SNBA est aujourd’hui présidée par Michel King, Peintre Officiel de la Marine. Elle poursuit sa tradition d’encouragement et de soutien aux artistes de toutes tendances, en organisant chaque année son Salon : le Salon des Beaux Arts.
