Event description

Description

Nottingham Citizens is a non-partisan alliance of 37 civil society institutions comprised of trade unions, faith groups, charities, housing associations, schools and universities, all working together for the good of the city. Nottingham Citizens organises communities to act together for social justice and the common good, developing the leadership capacity of our members so they can hold politicians and other decision-makers to account on the issues that matter to them. Community organising is democracy in action: winning victories that change lives and transform communities.

This May, Nottingham Citizens will gather over 800 of our community members in Nottingham's Albert Hall as we bring to fruition our current streams of work, most notably a large piece of county-wide research into hate crime. Public commitments will be sought from our city's decision-makers, with community leaders also revisiting previous strands of work from our short history, celebrating decision-makers for the positive impact achieved, as well as ensuring commitments that were made historically continue to be implemented in the present.

Doors open at 5.45, with entertainment and networking from 6.00. The assembly will begin at 6.30.

This is a ticket-only event. Because places are limited, please ensure you register here to confirm your place.
