Description

Nottingham for Nature - youth question time & Wildlife Manifesto for Nottingham City launch

A panel of political leaders, decision makers, national and local environmental campaigners meet an audience of teenagers and students!

A unique and very important event giving young people a voice and a platform to ask important questions about the 'state of nature' in Nottingham which will cover themes about the worrying trend of disconnection people have with the natural world as well as, what is the value of nature in Nottingham, innovative ideas to help protect and ideas about how to grow a thriving wildlife landscape within an urban city. From a need for clean fresh air to breathe to the need to connect with wildlife, from the potential opportunities to nature tourism to wild meadows in our city centres, this event is exciting and positive for teenagers in Nottingham, and we invite your pupils and schools, groups and youth projects to take part and put a spotlight on nature and the environment in our city.

Our event will include the creative launch of a green manifesto presentation by young people, and a panel will include the following (additional panel members tbc)

Mike Dilger, BBC ONE SHOW (event compare)

Mark Avery, National campaigner for wildlife conservation and published author (20 years National Director for Conservation for RSPB)

Stephanie Hilborne OBE, Chief Executive for The Wildlife Trusts, UK

Dr Sarah Pierce / OPAL Community Scientist, University of Nottingham

FREE tickets are available for young people 14 - 24.
