Notts Churches Ukrainian Response (Local Support) Part 2

Online event
A second update and info meeting to respond in unity as Notts churches to the support needs for Ukrainian refugees as they arrive.
About this event
As you will be aware, the situation in Ukraine is continually evolving and we are keen that as churches in Notts, we respond in a united and helpful way as people arrive locally. Many churches have so far welcomed refugees and asylum seekers as they arrive, but there is the need for much more.
This evening is an update on where things are up to following on from our previous event in April, although if you were unable to attend that still feel free to join as it will be a really useful evening!
We will let you know where things are up to locally with Ukrainians being hosted in the city/county, share some of the support already in place through Local Authorities and other organisations and also what some of the needs are for help.
We hope this evening will be informative and answer some of the questions those exploring hosting/ supporting in Nottingham may have, although this conversation will continue to evolve. We will be hearing from Paul Roberts, the Notts County council lead on Ukrainian resettlement, Liam O'Boyle Partnerships officer for the Church of England in Notts, Refugee Roots about support in city & county for Ukrainians and ways people can get involved, and others currently supporting refugees.
We will continue to share and update some useful signposting resources and seek to collate information about how others are responding.
We want to do the best we can to ensure all those seeking refuge in our communities are welcomed and cared for in an effective way but to do this we are going to need to work together for the longer term. This event is being hosted by Transforming Notts Together and Christian Action Nottingham, who work with many churches and projects across the city & county.
