Novation London // Learn: New Creator- Getting Familiar with Live

Novation and Ampify host a series of workshops to help you get-started on your journey to making electronic music.

As a repeat from his previous workshop on 19th October, John Holt, Novation Content Creator, gets you started with Ableton Live, showing you how to make a drum beat with a bassline/melody over the top.

The session will walk you through three different topics:

• Getting familiar with Live - we will walk you through the different sections of the Ableton Live interface, including browser, session view, piano roll.
• Making your first beat (drum racks) - using one of Ableton's pre-made drum racks, John will show you how to create a drum beat, taking this moment to explain what both a sampler and MIDI is.
• Basslines and melodies - Exploring the Launchpad whilst explaining the idea of writing in key.
