Bio speakers

‘Hooks in React' by Thomas Claessens

Bio: Thomas is a 26 year old full-stack (but mostly front-end) Javascript Developer currently working as a Consultant for Euricom. Aside from coding, he puts effort into enforcing good UX. And strides to become a ‘Clean Coder’. When the working hours are over, you will find him in various board game café’s in Antwerp or in front of his Theatre Setup to enjoy the best movies cinema has to offer.

Talk: On February 16, 2019, React 16.8 was released. And with it, came the long awaited Hooks feature.

Hooks promised to change the way we work in React. It would allow you to use State and other React features without using a class.

Today, 1 year later, we can’t think of React without hooks anymore. It changed the game, with Vue adopting the same method in their framework.

During this talk, I will introduce you to Hooks and show you what the buzz is all about. We’ll talk about performance, code quality, migrating from classes to function components, and so much more!

‘NgRx in Angular’ by Maarten Tibau

Bio: Freelance Software Engineer, with a huge passion for Angular, TypeScript and reactive programming. NG-BE Core Team member, OSS contributor. Proud dad of two beautiful daughters!

Talk: Since NgRx version 8 some new features were introduced into the library. In this talk we will take a deep dive into these new features and explain how you can start using them in your own day to day development routine.
