Event description

Description

The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the most important change in data privacy regulation in 20 years. Following a two year grace period, the legislation becomes fully enforceable on 25 May 2018. At NPAT, we have been getting prepared and looking at the data we process and how we process it in order to ensure that as a Trust, we will be compliant. The new regulations will mean that we will be altering some of the ways in which we store data and some of the data we keep. We will also be making our online systems more secure, introducing encryption for emailed correspondence and ensuring that all of our internal correspondence is done using our internal NPAT email addresses. As Governors, Headteachers, Senior Leaders and School Business Managers, we want you to fully understand the changes, your responsibilities for any data shared with you by the school, the security of your own devices and what to do in the event that data you hold becomes breached.

Our Solicitor from Browne Jacobson, Philip Wood and our Chief Operations Officer, Ian Sharpe will conduct a briefing on Monday 30 April 2018 at 6.30pm- 8.30pm at Headlands Primary School in the school hall.

We would like as many of our Governors, Headteachers, Senior Leaders and School Business Managers to attend as possible.

A buffet will be provided from 6.00pm. Please notify any dietary requirements in advance.

Should you have any questions or queries or any dietary or access requirements, please do not hesitate to get in touch and email Juliette at Juliette.pierson@npatschools,org.
