Assessment

This course leads to the City & Guilds Level 2 Award 0014-07 via a competency assessment. Competency will be assessed by the NPTC via a combination of observation and oral questioning.

Once you have completed your training course you will be contacted by the NPTC to arrange a convenient date for your assessment. The assessment is not carried out during the course.

Please provide us with a passport photo in advance of the course for your NPTC registration. Please email a digital image to NPTC@ccn.ac.uk. Successful candidates will be awarded their certificate directly from the NPTC.

If you have not already done so, please inform us of any disabilities you have that may require you to have access arrangements put in place for you to take your assessment.

NPTC - Disabilities and Access Arrangements

Please inform us immediately, if you have not already done so, of any disabilities that may disadvantage you in successful completion of your assessment; for example if you have dyslexia or English is not your first language, or any mild disability which may require you to have some assistance. Under guidance from C&G we are able to make access arrangements for some learners to demonstrate their competence under assessment, without changing the demands of that assessment. Examples of access arrangements include: readers, scribes, extra time, or modified assessment material. However, as Certificates of Competence are vocational qualifications, candidates must achieve all the required units to gain a full qualification, and the awarding body will not make adjustments to the required competence standards.

As an example, pesticide product labels detail essential information, and it is of paramount importance that a candidate is able to read and interpret this information to comply with legislative and operational requirements. If the candidate is unable to read and/or interpret a product label without assistance then they will not be deemed competent to practice, as if such a person were working without supervision in the workplace, there is the potential for serious incident to occur.

If you would like to discuss this further or make access arrangements for your assessment, then please contact NPTC directly on 01603 731250 or email NPTC@ccn.ac.uk.
