Event description
Art, Craft and Design is... shaping the future. NSEAD Annual Conference & AGM, bringing Art Educators together

About this Event

Why is art, craft and design important for the economy, society and ourselves?

Teachers and lecturers, educators, artists, makers and designers will explore the very best inclusive practice in art, craft and design education. You will take away inspiration, information and practical ideas for excellent teaching and learning.

This conference will help you to plan and develop art, craft and design provision that meets the needs of your learners – now and for the future.

Keynote presentations from:

Keith Brymer Jones, NSEAD patron and international maker and designer

Susan Aykin, Ofsted HMI and National Lead for Visual and Performing Arts

Dr Rachel Payne, President of NSEAD.

The day will explore our conference theme through practical making, presentations and panel discussions.

Sessions will be facilitated by Meghan Goodeve from Yorkshire Sculpture International, Gomersal Primary and the Arts Council Collection. The Royal Opera House will bring us their Design Challenge. Susan Coles (@artcriminal), Designer Patrick McDowell and Chris Francis (@artpedagogy) will lead debate on gender inclusion. Artists Tamar McClellan & Phillippa Wood will lead a conference co-creation to close the event.

If you are a school or organisation wishing to pay by invoice, please visit our website for booking and payment options. http://www.nsead.org/cpd/conference.aspx?id=457
