Event description

Description

Hosted by the Centre for Nuclear Engineering, Imperial academics interested in energy issues are invited to come along to discuss the future of nuclear research and teaching at Imperial College London.

The aim of the workshop is to reconnect and revitalise Imperial's strength in nuclear research and will involve presentations on Imperial's next EPSRC Nuclear Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) bid, our contributions to Small Modular Reactors (SMRs), the Advanced Boiling Water Reactor (ABWR) at Wylffa and Gen. IV reactor technology, and our public engagement and communications efforts.

The presentations will facilitate discussions on current and future opportunities, the Centre for Nuclear Engineering's strategy and membership, and the wider promotion of nuclear within the College and beyond.

Our goal is that at the end there will be a foundation for taking nuclear research and teaching in exciting new directions and the embryos of new initiatives and collaborations.

The event is FREE and lunch and refreshments will be provided during the day.

A more specific agenda will be released in due course.

Due to size restrictions imposed by the venue tickets for the event are limited.

Any questions please contact Dr Jonathan Tate at j.tate@imperial.ac.uk.
