This is a FREE one day event aimed at secondary school science teachers.
The course will enable you to gain a greater understanding of curriculum linked topics in nuclear physics, nuclear astrophysics and nuclear energy and is supported by STFC, the research council that funds nuclear physics in the UK. It will be held at the STFC Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (RAL).
The day will include talks from UK nuclear physicists, hands-on activities to take back to the classroom, a tour of one of RAL’s particle accelerators and a chance to learn how to get involved with authentic research in your school through the CERN@school programme. Lunch and refreshments for participants will be provided.
