NUM Vocational Support Accelerated Workshop

This session is an accelerated version of our 3 workshop series designed by sex workers, for sex workers, to provide space for anyone who does sex work to explore their career, financial and educational goals – and how to make these happen! This collaborative session takes place on Zoom, and runs for approximately 2 hours with plenty of time for discussion and breaks . Multiple date options are available for the workshops, check out our voctional support events calender in the NUM members area for details.

The session will combine all three workshops into a more intensive session for individual's who feel more confident in their career planning and are looking for a faster-paced session to enhance their knowledge.

• First section: exploring the research underpinning our vocational support services, identifying barriers, and understanding your career values, motivations and goals. This session includes insights from NUM's recent research study, "Leaving the Game,". Also introducing Mental Health and Wellbeing resources, as well as wellness exercises that you can call on throughout your journey to boost your confidence, help with anxiety and support you in managing change
• Second section: exploring the competency frameworks used by mainstream recruiters and understanding how your experiences can provide evidence for your skillset
• Third section: how to develop a powerful CV showcasing your talents from lived experience and mainstream careers as well as how to create a practical plan to meet your goals! Learn how to plan your career journey, prioritise your objectives and measure short, medium and long term successes.

Once you’ve completed our three vocational support workshops, or our two-hour accelerated session, you can access one-to-one support along your career journey with our casework team. The team will help you explore your options further, provide advice on how to meet your goals and signpost you to additional financial support you may be entitled to.
