We’re thrilled to invite you to the second meeting of our new Nurse Managers Network (to be held virtually via Teams this time round), created in direct response to your feedback and designed to bring together registered nurse managers and senior nurses from across Dorset.
For years, our wider managers’ network has been a valued space for connection, peer support, and professional development. Now, we’re building on that success by facilitating a dedicated space just for nurses in leadership roles—to share ideas, tackle challenges, and shape the future of nursing in adult social care locally.
We’re delighted that we will be joined by Grace Cook from the Foundation of Nursing Studies, who will tell us more about their Resilience Based Clinical Supervision programme for nurses working in social care settings. This programme is funded by NHS England and offered free of charge : this restorative form of supervision is very much needed in the social care sector and offers a supportive safe space where people can explore issues and their feelings, which can affect how they carry out their work when caring for a vulnerable population. For more information before we hear from Grace please see RBCS for Social Care - Foundation of Nursing Studies
Also, we are really pleased to be joined by Angelique Atack from Bournemouth and Poole College who will share an update about the Student Nurse Associate programme and how this qualification and role can help support nursing staff and enhance your team, in preparation for the next cohort due to begin in Spring 2026. Some of you may know Angelique from her previous roles locally, so she is looking forward to seeing some familiar faces , and will be able to explain more about this opportunity https://www.thecollege.co.uk/courses/fdsc-nursing-associate-apprenticeship
