At CUH we see Emergency Care as a specialty for nurses in which they can play a major contribution to patient care. We are currently expanding our specialist workforce and we would love to have you join us. When joining the team you will provide hands on care within the department working under indirect supervision to gain proficiency in all areas of emergency medicine. You will gain valuable skills to help develop your practical and theoretical knowledge of the acute patient.

We are a Major trauma centre with a combined adult and paediatric ED, treating trauma patients from the East Anglian region. We have a 7 bedded resuscitation room and see a variety of patient presentations ranging from minor injuries, multiple traumas or critically ill people. Here in the ED we see approximately 120,000 patients per year, which equates to approximately 360 per 24 hours period.

With such diverse attendances your working days will never compare to others, with many learning opportunities being provided in house and externally. With strong links to local universities an amazing benefit to working with us is that we are committed to delivering work based educational initiatives which offer house accredited Foundations of Emergency Nursing Course and an accredited Emergency Nursing Course. This enables us to both support newly qualified and experienced nurses in the Emergency Department.
