Join us for a reception to find out more about the RCN's new Family History service and the digitised nursing registers now available online. This year, our records of over 1.5 million nurses have been published digitally for the first time by specialist family history website Ancestry. The records span nurses’ registrations and appointments from 1891-1968, and provide a unique insight into nursing and women’s history in the UK.
The evening will include a short talk by Chris Hilton, Senior Archivist at the Wellcome Library. Refreshments will be provided, and there will be a chance to explore the digital records free of charge through the RCN's network.
The reception will be followed by a public lecture on disability history, which can be booked at: https://dhm2016.eventbrite.co.uk
If you can't make this event, there's another opportunity to explore our nursing records on Ancestry at a free drop-in session, lunchtime on November 23rd. Come by and say hello!
