Nurture Open Day
Overview
Join us for The Nurturing Programme – Open Days & Christmas Raffle, a warm and festive drop-in event for parents, carers, and professionals who support families. These sessions offer the chance to explore our free 10-week Nurturing Programme, learn about its strong evidence base, and meet the team delivering it locally. Enjoy Christmas music, mince pies, light snacks, tea/coffee, and enter our free festive hamper raffle, open to all attendees.
The programme is delivered by the Centre for Emotional Health (formerly Family Links), a long-established charity founded in 1997, dedicated to the vision of everyone living an emotionally healthy life. Their work is built on the well-researched Nurturing Programme, used widely across the UK in schools, family hubs, health settings, prisons, and community organisations. The approach strengthens emotional resilience, supports healthier communication, and fosters stronger, more connected family relationships.
For professionals, the Open Days provide insight into how the programme aligns with early-help and whole-family wellbeing pathways. The Nurturing Programme offers a relational, empowering framework that helps adults understand behaviour, manage emotions, use positive discipline, and model empathy; contributing to calmer routines and reduced stress at home. Evidence shows significant, sustained outcomes, including improved parental wellbeing, strengthened relationships, and increased prosocial behaviour in children, with results comparable to leading international programmes.
During the Open Days, you can:
• Explore the four core constructs: Self-awareness, Appropriate Expectations, Empathy, and Positive Discipline
• Learn how the programme supports families experiencing stress, conflict, or emotional overwhelm
• Hear real-life impact from parents and practitioners
• Ask questions about suitability, referrals, and session logistics
• Meet the facilitator from KO-NEKT, hosting the local programme funded by the Scottish Government’s Whole Family Wellbeing Fund
For parents and carers, this is a friendly opportunity to understand what the course involves and how it can create calmer routines, strengthen relationships, and support emotional wellbeing at home. For professionals, it offers clarity on referral pathways, programme fit, and the evidence supporting its impact.
Whether you’re considering attending yourself or referring a family, everyone is welcome. Drop in, enjoy the festive atmosphere, and discover how a nurturing approach can help families flourish.
