Invitation to all health and social care staff to join

Nurturing A Safety Culture Across Our Health and Social Care System’ Event

Date: Thursday 7th February 2019, 9:30am – 4:00pm

Location: King’s House Conference Centre, Sidney Street, Manchester, M1 7HB

Dear colleague,

Greater Manchester & Eastern Cheshire Patient Safety Collaborative (GMEC PSC) wish to invite you to the ‘Nurturing a Safety Culture Across our Health & Social Care System’ Learning System event. Organisations and systems are increasingly focused on improving the safety of healthcare processes and techniques as a means of improving patient outcomes. This, in turn, has led to a greater recognition of the importance of the culture within the organisations and teams making quality improvements. The purpose of this event is to explore what we mean by a ‘safety culture’ and how we can enable individuals to work safely within a healthcare system, identify the principles inherent in a ‘good’ safety system, and showcase local examples of good practice as a means of stimulating discussion, debate and system change.

This full day event is free to attend and delegates are invited from across ALL health and social care systems and services – examples include maternity and neonatal units, acute trusts, mental health trusts, ambulance services, care homes, community services, GP practices and Out-of-hours providers.

The day will be split into 2 interactive sessions comprising:

10:00am – 1:00pm Safety

Explore the principles of a good safety system, how we help people work safely and learn about the latest thinking in safety such as ‘safety II’

1:00pm – 4:00pm Culture

Exemplar workshops from local teams/organisations to enable delegates to distinguish the knowledge, resources and tools necessary to nurture and develop a safety culture within their own organisation

How do I book a place? Tickets are available on Eventbrite, please register early to avoid disappointment. Delegates may register for the full workshop OR select the morning session or afternoon session via https://nurturingasafetyculture.eventbrite.co.uk
