About this event
Why this webinar exists:
It is clear that there is an increased awareness of the benefits of a diverse Board. But also a recognition that many people don’t really know what a Board is or does and even when they do, they may think ‘it’s not for someone like me’.
Organisations are increasingly thinking - how can we attract diverse talent in this context. There are a range of models supporting a pipeline of future trustees. In this session you will get to hear from organisations that are nurturing new talent in this way, so that they can one day step into a governance role with confidence.
One of the biggest requests we have is knowing what running such a scheme practically looks like. So Action for Trustee Racial Diversity, Getting On Board and the Young Trustees Movement, have teamed up with some brillant charities to bring you exactly that!
Therefore this webinar isn’t exclusively about getting more young people on the Board – but about supporting boards to diversify in whatever way they need.
What this webinar will cover:
- Examples of charities running existing pipeline schemes
- Opportunity to ask questions and share challenges
- Signposting to organisations/resources to support you with taking next steps
What this webinar will not cover:
- Why developing a pipeline of talent is so important (this was covered in this webinar)
Who should attend:
If you are thinking of developing a pipeline of talent in support of diversifying your board then this webinar is for you – it does not matter where on this journey you are. It could be an ambition that lay just with you yet; or you may have got your Board’s agreement and are now thinking about the practical steps.
