The scheme focuses on helping people in North Wales to improve skills, achive outdoor qualifications, and gain work in the outdoors. The only cost is the price of the activities (£5)

Rock Climbing

• Meeting at 09:15am - returning to centre at 17:00pm
• Where: TBC - (either Gwydir Forest in Betws or Coed y Brenin, Traws)
• Additionally: We'll need to know well in advance if you need bike hire - you can add this on the form when booking
• Spaces available: 6 people

(Induction, Intermediate, and Advanced levels) However, you should have some basic knowledge or confidence Mountain biking, or be aiming to achieve an award.

Kath (instructor) is a British Cycling tutor and is able to train and assess the NGB off road leadership qualifications. She has many years’ experience as a teacher, examiner and instructor and has put together a bespoke program for you.

Morning: pre-ride safe bike & safe person checks, coaching session to look at the basic skills such as body position, braking and cornering. Developing your personal MB skills.

Afternoon: Go for a ride and learn about leadership skills, trailside repairs, navigation and group management.

Essential Kit List:

• Backpack
• MUST either have ticked form for hiring a bike and helmet OR bring their own
• bike helmet - NON NEGOTIABLE no helmet, no ride!
• Waterproof jacket (trousers if its a wet forecast)
• water, snacks and packed lunch
• spare warm layer
• padded cycling undershorts (will enhance comfort),certainly not crucial but can often be a make or break factor for enjoyment of mountain biking.
• gloves
• cycling shoes/trainers/lightweight walking boots/approach shoes again, not crucial but helpful.
• Glasses (clear, protective) are recommended but again, not crucial.
