Why This Course Matters
Thank you to the individuals and families who have shared their personal stories to help shape this course. This course exists because of you, and it’s designed to ensure your experiences inform and influence safeguarding practice across the country We know from both research and real-world experience that families are not just part of the picture—they are essential partners in safeguarding. But how do we make that partnership real in our everyday work?
What You’ll Learn
This course is about turning insight into action. Together, bringing to the training our own learning, knowledge and experience, we will explore:
Developing a culture of working alongside parents/carers as safeguarding partners
The ripple effects of exploitation—not just on the individual, but on the whole family.
What families need to feel supported, empowered, and included as safeguarding partners.
The barriers—from both the family’s and the practitioner’s perspectives—that can get in the way
Taking the learning from the latest reports and research principles into your daily work whether your role is strategic or operational—so that collaboration and partnership with families becomes not just a goal, but a reality.
This training is a chance to reflect, connect, and grow in how we support, enable and empower families affected by exploitation—and how we listen to them. Because when families are truly heard, safeguarding becomes stronger for everyone.
