NWG Health and Social Care Forum

Aim of Forum:
The Health forum is held quarterly for all Health Professionals including those in Public Health and also other professionals’ who have an interest in the agenda. It covers a wide range of issues for health professionals from the Voice of Young People, Therapeutic Interventions to Strategic Development at a National level.
To provide NWG Network with an opportunity to update the forum on the work of the NWG and its network
The learning from the forum will be shared to inform the NWG through the other Forums at the NWG
To share ‘good practice’ and lessons learned
To contribute to solving problems and finding solutions to local/national barriers to practice
Provide feedback on client’s needs, concerns and interests
To provide a sharing point for health professionals who are working directly with child sexual exploitation and those working in multi-agency teams
To engage and interpret reports from Department of Health, NHS, and the Royal Collages
To comment and advise on national policy and practice from health service prospective
To support the development of CSE health tools
To help promote and publicise projects and services
Act as a planning tool – so that the forum can be consulted on service development and provision

10:30 – 11.00 Welcome, Introductions and Update on NWG developments
11:00 – 12:00 Operation Balzini Briefing on the recent West Midlands operation and trial
12:00 – 12:15 Refreshment Break
12:15 – 13:15 The Reach Project Routine enquiry training to support the routine collection of CSA and CSE data.
13:15 – 14:00 Networking Lunch (not included)
14:00 – 14:50 Not just a thought A progress report on an NHS funded research project due to launch in March 2017 on asking the right questions in health
14:50 – 15:30 Group Discussion
15.30 - 16.00 Any other business, evaluation and close
