Event description

Description

In 2017, New York’s Regional Plan Association (RPA) released its Fourth Regional Plan, looking at the Tri-State metropolitan area in its totality. In the same year, the Mayor of London released the draft New London Plan for Greater London, which addresses but does not resolve London’s relationship with its neighbouring counties. Is it time we think more strategically across the London boundary as has our New York counterpart?

Tom Wright, President of the RPA, will join us in London to share the NY experience, with speakers and audiences joining the discussion in both cities, linked via live video conferencing. The event takes place whilst our New York hosts, Center for Architecture, exhibit The Future of the New York Metropolitan Area: The Fourth Regional Plan, which is on show until Saturday 3 November, and delves further into what this plan will mean for New York.

The live video seminar, taking place simultaneously in both cities, will begin in promptly at 08:30 in New York, with breakfast from 08:00, and in London at 13:30, following lunch from 13:00.

This event forms a key part of the NLA International Dialogues programme, which brings together speakers and audiences to foster cross-city dialogue and learning between cities.
