Description

New Zealand Studies Network (UK & Ireland) would like to announce that their Annual AGM will take place on Friday 22nd September from 6.30pm - 7.30pm at the Royal Academy of Music in the Piano Gallery of the Museum.

The AGM will be followed by a lecture, given by Roger Flury (formerly Music Curator of the Alexander Turnball Library in Wellington, New Zealand), on a seminal figure in the musical life of Britain, New Zealander, Warwick Braithwaite. Warwick Braithwaite was born in Dunedin, travelled to England in 1916 and studied at the Royal Academy of Music. At the time of his professional debut he was reputedly the youngest conductor in the country.

This lecture will take place in the Piano Gallery of the Royal Academy of Music Museum.

After the lecture, NZSN invites you to attend a short wine reception in the Royal Academy of Music's Patron Room.

You are welcome to attend as a current or intending member of the NZSN or if you are interested in the content of our lecture on Warwick Braithwaite by Roger Flury. Please ensure you register if you intend to join us (for security purposes). No non-registered persons will be admitted.
