The Revd Professor Ian Bradley is Emeritus Professor of Cultural and Spiritual History at the University of St Andrews where before retirement he was Principal of St Mary’s College and honorary Church of Scotland chaplain. The author of more than forty books and a regular journalist and broadcaster, he is the author of The Penguin Book of Carols and has a long-standing interest in hymnody and church music as well as in many other areas of theology and church history. His most recent books include God is Green: Christianity and the Environment (DLT), Arthur Sullivan: A Life of Divine Emollient (OUP), Columba: Politician, Penitent and Pilgrim (Wild Goose) and The Quiet Haven: An Anthology of Readings on Death and Heaven (DLT).
