About this Event

Part of Truro Cathedral's Christmas Festival, Monday 7 to Sunday 13 December

Get into the Christmas spirit with a one-hour offering of carols by Truro Cathedral Choir with its boy choristers. As well as traditional favourites, there will be sparkling new arrangements that are sure to get you into the festive mood. Entry is free but there will be the opportunity to make a donation to support us in these difficult times. Your help is hugely appreciated.

The choir will sing:

  • O holy night – Adam
  • The magi’s dream – Whitbourn
  • In dulci jubilo – Pearsall
  • Sycamore Tree – Britten
  • Once in royal David’s city
  • Riu, riu, chiu – Flecha
  • Shepherds’ Farewell – Berlioz
  • Quem vidistis pastores – Poulenc
  • O little town of Bethlehem
  • Christmas Blessing – Stopford
  • A maiden most gentle – Carter
  • I wonder as I wander – Rütti
  • Torches – Joubert
  • O come, all ye faithful
  • The Sussex Carol – Ledger

Truro Cathedral and its choir have been significantly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The music department has worked hard to keep up the choral tradition throughout the lockdowns and the choir has been unable to perform any of its concerts this year, losing considerable revenue. This Christmas Festival service is free to attend but we would be grateful for any donation. A suggested amount would be £5-£20, but any donation that you could make will help. Thank you for your support. You can donate online via our justgiving page: https://www.justgiving.com/trurocathedral

PLEASE NOTE: We hope this service is able to run as scheduled however, in light of the current COVID-19 pandemic, we reserve the right to cancel if lockdown is extended or other restrictions are imposed. All ticket holders will be notified of cancellation as soon as possible, but this may be at short notice.

Covid-19 Booking and Safety:

Keeping everyone safe is our priority. In line with government guidelines, our seating is reduced and socially distanced. Face coverings are mandatory in the Cathedral and due to the ‘Rule of 6’, the maximum size for your group is six.

You can read more about our Covid-19 policies on our website.

Unable to attend?

You will receive a confirmation email with your tickets. Since our services are often wait-listed, if you are no longer able to attend, please cancel your booking via your confirmation email or contact us on tickets@trurocathedral.org.uk.

Please do let others know where to find this registration page. Thank you!

We look forward to seeing you and hope you enjoy your time in this sacred space.
