Objects as Letters: Experimenting with Type
Overview
Discover type as an art form in this experimental typography workshop for young adults.
Guided by graphic designer and illustrator Sofia With F, in this exploratory creative workshop, you will create your own alphabet and typeface inspired by the Foundling Museum's collection and architecture.
Through a series of playful warmups (featuring rubber bands and playdough!) you'll be introduced to the joy of experimental type before moving on the collaborate on a brand new typography inspired by the Museum.
After the workshop, you will be given the opportunity to receive a copy of the finalised typeface once it has been digitised.
No need to stress about coming solo, there will be plenty of opportunities to connect with fellow attendees through type. This is your opportunity to take some time to craft, connect and self-express. What are you waiting for?
This workshop is open to anyone aged 18-30.
