Overview /Sypnosis

The Story of Chiara Vigo - The ultimate master of crafting with the Bisso Marino (Sea Silk), the precious yarn originating from the sea.

Chiara Vigo is the last living craftmaker using the Bisso Marino, a rare golden yarn found in the sea with which pharaohs' clothes were made. Quoted several times in the Sacred Scriptures, this sea silk comes from the depths with song, shout, melody. The Byssus comes from the Pinna nobilis, the largest bivalve clam of the whole Mediterranean, which is harvested for a few months each year in the depths of the sea only by those who can handle it, with the mastery of Renaissance artists. Chiara Vigo collects the yarn from the Sant'Antioco's sea, Sardinia, to make unique works that can not be sold, but only donated. She is not a craftsman or an artist. She has the custody of a unique talent of ancient secrets.
