About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour

Join us for an online taster session exploring Fundamentals of Human Nutrition (NUTR7001)—a 20-credit, Level 7 module offered by Oxford Brookes University

In this 60-minute session, we will delve into the nutrition and metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats—three essential macronutrients that play a vital role in human health.

We will explore how these nutrients are digested, absorbed, and metabolised in the body, and how their metabolic pathways contribute to energy production and physiological function. Beyond the science, we will also consider how these processes are connected to everyday activities and clinical practice.

By linking metabolism to real-life contexts—such as physical activity, dietary habits, and health conditions—you will develop a clearer understanding of how nutrition both shapes and responds to daily life. This session is designed to give you a better sense of what this module will cover, while also taking you on a brief journey through the fascinating world of human metabolism.
