OCD workshop - Navigating POCD
Overview
Welcome to my OCD Workshop - Navigating POCD
POCD nearly killed me. I spent years terrified of my own thoughts and was convinced I was a danger to society.
Eight years later, I not only consider myself recovered from OCD, I have also moved across the world to teach kids for a living - something my OCD would have never allowed me to do.
I no longer carry any shame around OCD, which is why I feel ready to share the in-depth story of how POCD nearly killed me, and how I have got to where I am today.
I want to create a safe space where I can provide valuable insights, coping strategies, and give you hope that it can, and does, get better.
In this workshop I will be talking about my experience with POCD, my experiences with therapy, the groinal response, how to interact with sex and self pleasure, my experience with exposure therapy, how to talk to your friends and family and much more. There will also be a Q&A at the end of the hour.
TRIGGER WARNING: I will be talking about everything I went through — the groinal response, the graphic imagery, the traumatic experiences with finding the correct therapy, and much more.
I will be sharing my advice about how to talk to a therapist, how to tell your friends, different coping techniques, and my favourite resources.
IMPORTANT REMINDER: I am not a professional; all of my advice comes from my own experience. You are encouraged to seek proffesional help for anything related to psychological diagnosis, medical advice or licensed opinions, and I cannot guarantee that any of my personal tips will work across the board.
I really hope to see you there!
Much love, Zack
