Description

New History GCSEs – attend a free teacher network meeting with OCR’s History Subject Advisors

The focus of our Spring term regional network meeting will be on the reformed GCSEs (first teaching September 2016).

With significant changes to GCSE History having come in, the network meeting will provide an important opportunity to discuss planning issues for all aspects of the course and to get to grips with the new assessment styles. The meeting will be facilitated by an OCR History Subject Advisor. The Schools History Project Regional Adviser for the North West will also be in attendance for those of you teaching J411: History B (SHP). Uniquely, OCR offers two History GCSEs, History A: Explaining the Modern World, and History B which is in exclusive partnership with SHP.

Although the focus will be on GCSE, our OCR History Subject Advisor will also be able to take any questions you may have about the new A Level.

Please be aware that this is not a CPD event. Teacher Networks are designed to be teacher led and provide an opportunity for you to share ideas and good practice. With this in mind we invite you to bring marked examples of student work to share so as to facilitate discussion.

We look forward to seeing you there!
