The theme of National Poetry Day (taking place this week on Thursday 8th Oct) is Light, and we have decided to dedicate our next Drop-In to all things illuminating.
Super moons and Indian-summer days have been shining on this early autumn, but there’s always been a fascination with the lights above and around us, that direct and decorate our planet.
Light as life-giver, industrial revolution, visionary, beacon. Eureka moments both spiritual and scientific. Perhaps poetry is light; revealing and energising and helping us to see more clearly.
This event is free and open to everybody. Guests are invited to read their favourite poems or poems they have written themselves, exploring the theme, or to simply come along and listen.
The Drop-In will be hosted by the poet Racker Donnelly
