About this event

Come and make some time for yourself and maybe make some things at the October Make Day, on Saturday the 26th October. You can come or drop in any time from 10am to 4pm.

You can paint, bake, write, listen, watch, dream, nap...whatever takes you.

Please bring your own lunch. Please leave children at home (with the exception of daughters over 8 years old) as I want to hold a relaxing, calm space for us for a short while in the whirl of our busy lives.

You are all welcome. I'd love to see friends but if nobody signs up you'll find me making a mixed-media piece of the rollercoaster at Great Yarmouth out of ice cream wrappers and driftwood and pottering!

And feel free to find some time for yourselves at a time of your choosing or if you're not coming in person, please engage at the same time or some other. Just, please, find a bit of time to rest each week (doing ironing doesn't count! ) 😉😂

For those who are new to me, Katie, the event organiser and Breakthrough, a bit about Breakthrough, which brings you the festival (and well, me!) I founded Breakthrough as 'Kickass Women' 10 years ago as a way to help women to meet eachother and have more sincere and real chats and connections (without mansplainers in the way!)

It has become my great passion to help women who work (paid work, parenting, volunteering, studying, caring and more hats I'm sure) to break free from 'busy' and find more time for themselves and rest. To learn to say no (boundaries workshops), to make time for themselves (Make Days) and to have fun together (Mingles and Restivals)

I keep on adding new events as I think of them and uncover needs real working women have. I like hosting in my home as it's more intimate and trusting but I've also ran Breakthrough events in partnership with Barclays, Natwest, Harrow and Southampton Council, commercial businesses, charities and work hubs.
