The October meeting will take place on Tuesday 6th October 2015.

GUEST ORGANISATION: Damian Offer from Torbay Coast & Countryside Trust (TCCT)

‘TCCT is an independent charity that cares for over 1,700 acres of Torbay’s most special natural places.  As a charity, support from the community for its work is very important (both financially and through volunteering).  However, the level of support is lower than might be expected and it needs to grow.

The Trust was originally set up to provide a cost-effective solution for the ongoing management of the Council’s countryside estate.  The majority of the land managed by the Trust is leased from the Council.  A particular legacy of the Trust’s formation is that many people still perceive the Trust as being part of the Council rather than an independent charity and the land we manage as belonging to the Council.

The challenges that Damian would like CTT to consider are:

1) How could TCCT increase the awareness and understanding of what it contributes to Torbay? (that it looks after the coast and countryside that bring people to live, work and holiday here and that it runs a wide range of educational activities?)

2) How could TCCT increase its membership and volunteers in Torbay?

VENUE: Torbay Innovation Centres Boardroom, Vantage Point, Long Road, Paignton, Devon, TQ4 7EJ

PARKING ARRANGEMENTS: Reserved parking at the front of SDC.

TIME: Prompt 6pm start.

PRICE: Don't forget £5 to contribute to the cost of the meeting.

About Creative Thinking Torbay

Creative Thinking Torbay (CTT) are a group of idea driven Torbay people that meet several times a year (often monthly) to think creatively with a guest not-for-profit organisation. The aim each time is to come up with ideas that could help make a difference to the guest organisation.

The group was originally formed in September 2011 by past students of Peter Redstone’s ‘Creative Thinking Workshops’. Since then many other people have joined the group. It is open to anyone that would like to develop their creating thinking practice.

It is free to join. Members are asked for a £5 contribution to food costs at each meeting.

Meetings are from 6-9pm. Dates for 2017: First Tuesday of the Month - no meetings in July or August. Venue: Occombe Farm, Preston Down Road Paignton TQ3 1RN

To become a CTT Member, go to LinkedIn Groups and search ‘Creative Thinking Torbay’ or email

When you join the LinkedIn Group ensure that notifications are turned on and dates for meetings will be sent out to you.

What members can expect: A fun, friendly and interesting evening with the opportunity to challenge your thinking skills and refresh your brainstorming techniques; all the while doing something good for a Torbay organisation.
