"Working Together to Do More"
Are you a User led organisation in the East Midlands?
On behalf of the Office for Disability Issues and in Partnership with Disability Direct we would be delighted to welcome you to the East Midlands DPULO conference.
The event is free for DPULO staff. We anticipate there will be at least two places available per organisation.
This will be an opportunity for you to share skills and best practice to support the delivery of stronger outcomes for disabled people. You can learn more about how organisations can work together to market DPULOs in the region to improve tendering opportunities and how you can get involved in a new initiative to communicate with Government. Before the event starts and throughout the day there will be extensive networking opportunities.
The agenda aims to include participative sessions on:
- In Session 1 we will discuss, in groups, the value of DPULOs, our unique selling points and how we think we can develop our sell.
- In Session 2 we aim to support your understanding of how to tender for contracts and funding, how using Making It Real can help you identify new opportunities and how we can work with commissioners to improve your sustainability.
- In Session 3 delegates will hear about the Government’s new way of engaging with the disabled people, including a quarterly National Strategic Engagement Forum with a regional representative meeting with the Minister for Disabled People and the Minister for Care & Support.
- In Session 4 DPULO's will discusswhat is social value and hgow do we demonstrate it
It is important that the event meets your needs. We would like to hear your opinions on what would make a valuable day.
In the afternoon we will be welcoming Rachel Quinn, CEO of One East Midlands to talk about Social Value and the impact this can have on commissioners
