ODST Leadership Conference - Spring 2017
Wed 29 March 2017, 09:00 – 16:30 BST
‘Focus on developing your leadership with the experience of a wide network of peers. Share your successes, explore strategies and have your thinking challenged. Our ODST Leadership Conferences are a peer network for headteachers and their senior leadership teams to share experiences and embark on fresh developments in their school. We help you to explore possibilities and find the inspiration to enhance your whole-school leadership strategies.'
0845 - 0915 Arrival – coffee & pastries
0915 – 0945 Welcome & ODST Updates – Anne Davey (CEO)
0945 – 1115 How was it for you? – we are gradually getting experienced in the world of being inspected both as a trust, as officers and as individual schools. Colleagues who have experienced the ‘joy’ of the 12.00 phone call have been asked to share their experiences and some of the instant wins from their imnspections. 1115 – 1145 Coffee Break
1145 – 1245 Outstanding Teaching - working across both the early years, primary and secondary age ranges, Jackie has a wealth of inspection experience of watching, evaluating and improving teaching, learning and assessment. As part of our work with senior leaders she recently led a session on ‘G1 Teaching’ and is happy to share this so all our leaders can take part in the discussions. Jackie Cousins
1245 – 1330 Lunch
1330 – 1430 E-Safety – There can be little doubt that the responsibility for the on-line safety of children is increasingly seen as our schools’ responsibility. We therefore need the skills and knowledge of how to teach our pupils the skills they need and to understand the behaviours which could protect them from the damage of cyber bullies, sexting and the pressures to conform online. This is an opportunity to capture some professional input and then to consider how ODST provides the resilience our children and young people need. MO Training and Consultancy
1500 – 1545 Best Practice Sharing workshop – an opportunity to share practice and discuss current issues was welcomed last time and so this is another chance to share ideas, resources, sources and practice to lift teaching, outcomes for pupils and support for our leaders in the trust.

1545 - 1600 Plenary
