Offshore Wind 2020
Event Information
About this Event
We are pleased to confirm the annual UK Offshore Wind conference this year will be going online!
Now in its 8th year, the webinar – organised by the Danish Embassy in London and the Danish-UK Association, supported by the British Chamber of Commerce in Denmark – will offer an overview of current and future developments in the UK offshore wind industry.
With the UK Prime Minister Boris Johnsons announcement on 6 October 2020 an increased commitment to offshore wind was set out. The UK will aim to ensure that offshore wind will produce more than enough electricity to power every home in the country by 2030, based on current electricity usage, this means boosting the government’s previous 30 GW target to 40 GW. In addition, the first ever target for floating offshore wind capacity – 1GW by 2030, nearly 15 times the current operational capacity worldwide was announced. Overall, we can anticipate an exciting array of opportunities in the years to come.
