E.ON is the owner of the 219MW Humber Gateway Offshore Wind Farm, located 8km off the East Yorkshire coast, just north of the river Humber which provides enough power for approximately 170,000 UK homes. The construction was completed in 2015 and the site consists of 73 foundations with Vestas V112 wind turbines, offshore electrical cabling to an offshore substation (33kV to 132kV) with approximately 8km of offshore and 30km of onshore cabling to the newly constructed onshore substation at Salt End.
This technicial presentation will provide an insight into the design, fabrication and installation challenges associated with the monopile foundations and the substation jacket foundation.
