Ofgem's RIIO-2 Open Hearings

About this Event

Britain’s energy networks form a critical backbone to the economy and the development needs of all areas of the country. All consumers from householders to businesses, hospitals or transport operators depend on energy supplies delivered by reliable and safe networks of pipes and wires.

Subsequent to our Call for Evidence, we would like you to register your interest in attending the RIIO-2 Open Hearings. These hearings will provide an opportunity to hear submissions and feedback evidence on various aspects of the business plans for the companies that operate the gas distribution, gas transmission, electricity transmission and the electricity system operator throughout Great Britain.

Hearings will be held regionally across England, Scotland and Wales to make it as easy as possible for stakeholders to participate. Each of the hearings will focus on company-specific issues, based on the company’s business plan. The final hearing (3rd April) will cover cross-cutting issues across the companies as needed.

Ofgem set price controls for the companies that operate the gas and electricity networks in Great Britain (GB) using the RIIO Framework. RIIO involves setting Revenue using Incentives to deliver Innovation and Outputs. As part of RIIO-2 we have developed the way we engage with stakeholders to strengthen the voice of consumers both in setting the price control and in the day to day operation of the network. The open hearings are part of this enhanced engagement strategy.

A detailed agenda and venue arrangements for these hearings will be published in due course. Timings subject to change.

Please note registering interest does not guarantee you a space at the hearings. We will be in contact in due course with confirmation of your attendance at the hearing. Registration is limited at two per organisation.
