In May, the first round of commitments of the UK's 2016-18 Open Government Action Plan were launched, including a commitment for the government and civil society network to continue to collaborate to identify, develop and implement new reforms. Since then, a new government has been formed and responsibility for the Open Government Partnership has transferred with the Minister for the Cabinet Office post from Matt Hancock to Ben Gummer.

The Open Government Partnership Global Summit in Paris in December presents an important opportunity to engage the new Minister and reinvigorate the OGP process under the new government, as well as connecting with reformers from the rest of the world.

This meeting of the UK Open Government Network with the Government points of contact on the Open Government Partnership will review progress so far, consider how we can make best use of the OGP Summit, and plan next steps. It will also kick off the process for reselecting half the members of the OGN's steering committee.
