“I have suffered with the effects of the psychological condition OCD for many years now. My debilitation because of it, culminated when I was 21-22 and was admitted to the Adult National and Specialist Service for the treatment of chronic OCD at St George’s Hospital in London.... I still live with OCD, however, I have learnt how to deal with and manage the condition. Meaning that, for the most part, I can live my life how I choose. Since taking responsibility for my mental health and seeing my wellbeing as on ongoing and ever changing process, I can deal effectively with most of life’s challenges."
Join our speaker, Shaun, as he talks about his experience of living with OCD, along with some thoughts on how we can identify callers with OCD and support them in the best way. The talk will be followed by a discussion and skills practice session, based on case studies.
This event is only open to Samaritans volunteers. If you have any questions, please contact the event organiser.
