Description

Professor Robert Ackrill (Nottingham Trent University)

Oil And The Threat From Renewables: Are We Approaching Peak Biofuels?

In the age of environmentalism, renewable energy has grown increasingly important in the energy mix. The use of oil as our primary source of has dropped to 30%, but what are the alternatives we’re faced with? Professor Robert Ackrill will be joining us to discuss one such alternative – biofuels. This lecture will be focused on the public policies and regulatory frameworks that different regions, such as the EU, US and Brazil face in their efforts to utilise this method of energy production.

The talk is relevant for all people (staff and students) interested in energy policies, particularly with the challenges posed by climate change, energy security and development.

7th of December 2016, Charles Ward Lecture, 152 (Coventry University), 14:00 – 16:00
